Lockheed Martin 2010 Small Business of the Year

July 2011

Excerpt from 2011 Lockheed Martin awards program:

Omega Precision produces parts that are of the highest tolerance and specifications. Several parts are used in critical assemblies, such as the gimbal assembly, where if a part does not meet 100 percent quality performance, the results could be detrimental to the program. Omega Precision is well diversified across MFC fixed wing and rotary wing programs and to date has a 100 percent quality rating and has exceeded all expectations for quality performance.

Exceptional delivery performance is just as important to Omega Precision as quality performance and the numbers show it. A 99.87 percent delivery rating overall and 100 percent quality rating for production programs is outstanding. Omega Precision has every intention of carrying this into the future. As a gold-level MFC preferred level supplier, they are committed to delivering excellence and meeting the critical hardware needs for several MFC programs.

Omega Precision Enters Mentor-Protégé Program

December 2006

As of October 1st 2006 Omega Precision entered the first year of a three year training and development program known as the Mentor-Protégé Program offered by the Department of Defense (DoD). The DoD Mentor-Protégé Program assists small businesses (Protégés) to successfully compete for prime contract and subcontract awards by partnering with large companies (Mentors) under individual, project-based agreements to provide training and developmental assistance to the Protégé. Omega Precision’s partner, or mentor, is The Boeing Company who is under contract with the Air Force for administration of the Mentor-Protégé Program.

The Mentor-Protégé proposal submitted by Boeing, Cerritos College and Omega Precision was one of only three selected by the Air Force among over thirty proposals submitted for Mentor-Protégé contracts. Omega Precision will receive over one million dollars worth of training and developmental assistance over the next three years of the program from the DoD. “The Mentor-Protégé Program will enhance Omega Precision’s competitiveness and strengthen our market position as a supplier to Boeing, the Air Force, DoD, and other aerospace customers,” says Richard M. Venegas, C.E.O. of Omega Precision.
